Derrick Stanton was born a Californian, but was always an Alaskan at heart, developing a love for the great outdoors when his family moved to Oregon.

Derrick came to Alaska in 2006, working on a commercial fishing site.  He married the boss’s daughter and sank his roots into the last frontier.

Derrick started making log furniture but jumped at the chance to work with a chainsaw artist. In just a week, Derrick saw that this would fulfill his childhood passion for art and woodwork.

Since then, he has carved full-time, creating well over 1,000 sculptures. He has won competitions and sent pieces as far away as Germany and Australia.

Derrick, his wife and his six children enjoy working the business together, a place where faith and family meet daily life.
